Done is better than perfect

I worked once with a colleague who liked things to be perfect. No matter how long it'd take, he was doing his best to go all the way to the end of the things he was working on.

That said, he was a researcher and he was expected to produce papers and communications to the highest standard.

Yet he was considered as a difficult person to work with. Why so? In all he did he applied the same level of expectations, from buying something online to going out with friends. Let's say he was infuriatingly slow!

All his friends expected thought was quick decisions and actions... Which he never did...
